About the Azawakh (Imp)
Hailing from the Azawakh Valley in Africa's Niger Basin, this sighthound lived a nomadic life with Sahara tribes, primarily hunting gazelle in packs by exhausting their prey. These dogs were highly prized for their beauty and swiftness, much like Arabian horses, and also served as camp guardians. Physically, they are considered the most extreme of sighthounds, appearing leggy and slender with prominent hip bones. Their intensely loyal yet sensitive nature means they thrive on gentle handling from their human companions.
