About the Slovakian Rough Haired Pointer (Imp)
Recognised by the FCI in 1983, the Slovakian Rough Haired Pointer is a relatively modern breed, developed through the combination of the Czech Pointer and a German Wire Haired Pointer, then introducing Weimaraner blood. This careful breeding resulted in a wire-coated dog boasting the distinctive silver-grey colouring of the Weimaraner. A few of these versatile gundogs have been imported into the UK by enthusiasts, bringing their excellent working qualities to British shores. This breed offers both beauty and capability to those who appreciate a dedicated working companion.
