About the Bernese Mountain Dog
Originating from the Swiss canton of Berne, this breed was developed as a versatile farm dog, pulling carts for weavers and assisting with sheep and cattle. One of four Swiss mountain dogs, it boasts a rich black and tan coat with distinctive white chest markings. These gentle giants are a wonderful sight, often participating in parades whilst pulling carts.
