About the Briard
The Briard, a long-coated sheep herding and guard dog, originates from the Brie province in France, with references to its kind found in 14th-century legends. Sharing ancestry with the Beauceron, this breed was first exhibited in France in 1863 and officially recognised later in 1897. Briards even served with the French army in both World Wars, accompanying search parties for wounded soldiers, showcasing their loyalty and versatility.
