About the Cesky Terrier
The Cesky Terrier, the national dog of Czechia, is a relatively modern breed, originating in the late 1940s through František Horák's breeding programme, which crossed Scottish Terriers and Sealyhams. Recognised by the FCI in 1963, this terrier has a unique clipped body coat, unlike many other terriers with hand-stripped wiry coats. With its gentle demeanour towards people, yet capability to dispatch vermin, the Cesky is a versatile and endearing dog.
