About the Chinese Crested
Evidence suggests this breed's lineage traces back to the Han Dynasty in China, where larger types were once used for hunting. The breed's name aptly describes the hairless variety's unique coat pattern, featuring a crest of fine hair on the head and neck, 'socks' on the paws, and a plumed tail. The fully coated 'Powder Puff' variety, by contrast, is covered in a soft veil of hair, offering a different appeal.
