About the Deerhound
Large, rough-coated dogs of the greyhound type have been present in Scotland for at least five centuries. Originally known as the Scottish Wolfdog, the breed was later developed for deer coursing as the wolf population declined. Although its size diminished over time, it remained incredibly popular for hunting deer until the 18th century. Today, the Deerhound is admired for its athletic lines, elegance, and particularly its gentle temperament, making it a truly noble and affectionate companion.
