About the Havanese
As the national dog of Cuba and a delightful member of the Bichon family, the Havanese is thought to have arrived in Cuba from the Mediterranean with Spanish or Italian traders. This charming breed became more widely known when many Cubans fled to the USA, bringing their beloved dogs with them. The Havanese boasts the silky coat characteristic of Bichon breeds, yet it comes in a wonderful array of colours, making each one a unique and cherished companion.
