About the Hungarian Pumi
A relatively new arrival to the UK, recognised by an esteemed canine organisation in 2015, the Pumi originated during the late 17th and 18th centuries. It was created by crossing Puli-type working dogs with terriers and German Spitz. Its terrier lineage is clear in its muzzle and tipped ears, demonstrating its aptitude for dispatching vermin. While still used for herding, the Pumi's appealing looks and lively temperament are earning it growing popularity as a companion.
