About the Pug
The Pug's development is often attributed to the Chinese fondness for small, short-faced breeds. Dutch East India Company traders brought these dogs from China back to the Netherlands during the 16th century, where they became popular in aristocratic circles. When William of Orange ascended the English throne, his Pugs accompanied him, captivating the aristocracy. Today, this charming breed maintains its popularity as a companion, celebrated for its big personality and given the descriptor 'multum in parvo' – a substantial dog in a small package!
