About the Shih Tzu
The delightful Shih Tzu is widely believed to have originated in China, with its ancestry tracing back to Tibetan breeds. Indeed, in earlier times, it was sometimes referred to as the Lhasa Lion dog, and the Pekingese may also have contributed to its development. These charming dogs were first exhibited in England in 1933, initially alongside Lhasa Apsos, though distinctions in their features soon led to their recognition as separate breeds. Today, this lovely companion continues to bring joy to many homes.
